Fabulous, 40, and proud of it! That’s how Dondra is described – a true Diva! She made her grand entrance into the hall with her handsome family, husband Marcus, and their two dapper young boys. Dondra looked like a snow-queen (flawless) in a beautiful sequined dress flanked with a winter white waist length fur jacket. So beautiful, and so befitting of a Winter Wonderland theme! Snowflakes, winter whites, silver, and aqua colors were weaved in and out of the beautiful room of the Reynolds Banquet Hall. These colors were dear to Dondra because they were the colors used in her and Marcus’ wedding. Hints of glitter and shine added to the elegance of the evening. Up lights tinted the room in shadows of blue which gave the room an intimate and winter-like feel. An added important detail was the rotating snowflake lights on the wall that Dondra insisted on. (Smile) These all set the ambiance for close family and friends who braved the weather to come out to celebrate with Dondra.
The chilly weather did not stop the party-goers from packing the beautifully decorated hall. DJ D. Woods started the evening off with just the right mix of dinner music and spot on music for dancing once the floor was opened up. Mr. Fred Bell is one of the best bartenders around! He took care of the guests all night long with servings of their favorite beverages. Fred is the best! A special performance by the band, ‘The Good The Bad and The Blues,’ proved to be a treat. What a performance! Guests were treated to a fun-filled time taking pictures at the photo booth by Javier Rios. Aja Wright was on-hand to photograph and capture the memories of the evening. A good time was had by all.
Monique Price, good friend and coordinator for the evening, spearheaded the toasts and accolades for Dondra. A very special and touching toast was done by Dondra’s loving husband, Marcus. Other friends and family said a few words as to how Dondra has had an impact on their lives. What a special moment this was for Dondra as she listened to the kind words, funny adolescent stories/confessions, and well wishes of so many!
Special Occasions’ Catering staff did an awesome job on the menu. Guests dined on roast beef and gravy, a tasty baked chicken dish, mashed potatoes, corn, vegetable medley, rolls with butter and a very delicious house salad. Dessert consisted of an assortment of cheesecakes, and a chocolate fondue bar with all of the trimmings.
Par Excel Events designed a Winter Wonderland themed dessert table that was decorated with snow flakes, fake snow, ice, and lights. We also supplied chocolate covered cookies and pretzels, candy apples, as well as rock candy sticks. And finally, color coordinated cupcakes and Hershey Kisses completed the theme. They were enjoyed by everyone.
We thank you, Dondra, for entrusting Par Excel Events, LLC with your special event.
Special thanks to Kendra Grant, Cover Me Chair Coverz, and her crew who did an awesome job with the linen selection, design and set-up. They did a fantastic job!
Also, thanks to Aja Wright, A Love for Memories, for the use of photos.
